A new (third) show has been added to FKA Twigs Red Bull Music Academy Festival performances. FKA Twigs will be coming stateside to perform her show “Congregata.” Congregata is a live performance including eight dancers, choreography, costumes by Alexander McQueen, and music From FKA Twigs discography.
FKA Twigs is going on tour to showcase her big picture project. She is incorporating all forms of art within her music, and the combination of all these elements in turn create a musical in the non-traditional sense. This creation is titled “Congregata.” The shows first runs came in February in London. Fans have been waiting for the show to come across the Atlantic, and now we finally have a chance to bare witness to the spectacle that is “Congregata.” A third show has been added to the Red Bull Music Academy lineup. The show will take place on May 19th. Along with the announcement of a third show, Twigs also announced that an entire tour will take place following the RBMA performances. The tour stops around the world at different festivals. Twigs recently held two shows at this years Coachella Music Festival. She will be visiting the Parklike Festival (Manchester, UK), NorthSide Festival (Arhaus, Denmark), and the Sonar Festival (Barcelona, Spain) to name a few. Twigs will also be one of the main performers at this years Lollapalooza Festival that takes place the last weekend of July in Chicago.
Twigs is looking toward the release of new music, and hopefully a full-length project. She recently released the visual for her song “Glass & Patron.” Earlier this year she also performed new song “Figure 8.” With that being said, the music selection for “Congregata” will consist of songs from her projects, EP1,EP2, and her 2014 release LP1. Twigs stardom is steadily rising, and if Congregata can live up to the hype she will catapult herself into the conversation of one of the best live performers of this generation.
