Failure Offering Free Download Of Their Song “Hot Traveler”

Los Angeles based rock band Failure recently announced their album The Heart Is A Monster for June 2015 release. Today the band is promoting a track from the upcoming project titled, “Hot Traveler.” The song is available for free download. “Hot Traveler” can be heard here

Earlier this year, footage of the band working on the new album was released. Naturally this peaked the interest of many considering that the band hadn’t put out a project in almost two decades. In fact, this will be the first project Failure has released since Fantastic Planet in 1996. The group went on hiatus due to personal differences, but during this 18 year gap Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards remained in contact. The Heart Is A Monster could possibly restore the band Failure back to its glory days. One way of doing this would be through heavy fan interaction, and that is how Failure is promoting their new single “Hot Traveler.” The song, “Hot Traveler” is available for free download, but to unlock the song you have to sign up for the bands newsletter.(The irony in the situation is that the name of the website is actually called unlock.) This is a pretty cool promotional trick considering artists are often trying to distinguish themselves from others in every aspect possible.

To accompany the release of their new album, Failure will be going on tour around the United States, and Canada. For the shows in Columbus, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, fellow Los Angeles rock band Jane’s Addiction will be joining Failure. The latest project from Jane’s Addiction came out in 2011 and is titled The Great Escape Artist Fans will be re-welcomed to the style of Failure, and will have the chance to be the first witnesses to the newer, and maybe improved sounds of the group.
