Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Duff McKagan allegedly appeared as Faith No More’s Gimp character at the second Los Angeles show on their tour.
The Gimp character has been accompanying Faith No More at all of their live shows in 2015. Among the pieces of evidence pointing to McKagan being the Gimp at the Wiltern on April 23 are tweets, photos and a video, as well as a joke by frontman Mike Patton. The Faith No More vocalist joked that McKagan was the Gimp on Thursday night, and McKagan himself tweeted a photo of himself dressed as the Gimp. The band also tweeted a photo of the Gimp onstage following their set, and many fans believe it looks like McKagan.
McKagan’s confirmed activities since his Guns N’ Roses days include forming a side project with Mad Season’s Mike McCready and Barrett Martin and playing with Chris Cornell and the surviving members of Mad Season. He also rejoined forces with Guns N’ Roses to play a handful of concerts in South America.
Faith No More is on a 2015 tour with a number of openers at different dates, including Refused, from April through August. They performed new songs called “Sol Invictus” and “From the Dead” in Vancouver and a new song called “Black Friday” on their first night in Los Angeles. They also just announced the reissue of their albums Angel Dust and The Real Side with rarities and B-sides.
