A former bus driver of Lil Wayne is allegedly suing the hip-hop and rap artist on the grounds of “false imprisonment” and “emotional distress.”
In an article about this case, TMZ states that their organization obtained a copy of the lawsuit, which cites an incident that took place outside of Buffalo, N.Y. as the starting point for the alleged claims of false imprisonment and emotional distress. In the documents, Jones references an incident that took place when he attempted to stop and refuel the bus at around 11:30 p.m., according to TMZ. And NME reports that when Jones attempted to pull over, Lil Wayne “became irate and started cursing, to the point the driver became scared and continued driving without refueling.”
Jones is claiming that during Lil Wayne’s tirade, the hip-hop and rap artist “threaten[ed] to pistol whip him” and “kill him.”
“Wayne came at him with a gun, cocked it at close range,” the TMZ-obtained report continues. Additionally, TMZ is reporting that the musician demanded to be taken to his accommodation, saying, “”I want to get to the hotel now.”
After this, Jones obliged and the remainder of the 30-minute drive to the hotel continued in silence, according to TMZ.
Jones is suing Lil Wayne for false imprisonment, emotional distress, and alleged assault, according to NME.
Lastly, in a more positive light, Lil Wayne has been in the news recently for his surprise appearance at South by Southwest (SXSW) with T.I., Questlove, and Mark Ronson. According to NME, the hip-hop and rap artist also made a guest appearance alongside Kayne West on Tyler The Creator’s new album Cherry Bomb.
