Just a few weeks ago, we brought you news of the first Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party. And now we’ve got the lineup for the June Block Party. The event goes down on Sunday, June 7th at Festival Pier, which provides the perfect backdrop for a summer outdoor concert. But of course, the best part of the Radio 104.5 shows are that they are free and open to the public. All you have to do is snag your tickets when they become available. These tickets are always in high demand, so stay tuned to the radio station and their Twitter page for info on when the tickets will be released.
For their June 7th show, Radio 104.5 has quick the lineup in store. Danish alt-rock band, New Politics, are no strangers to the 104.5 stage. They played last year’s Winter Jam in a blizzard, so the warm June weather will be a welcome change of pace. The show will also feature Big Data, who just played a show at Underground Arts at the end of March. Perhaps most famous for the song “Dangerous,” Big Data always puts on a highly energetic show. One of the most exciting additions to the lineup is certainly Misterwives, who sold out their recent show at Union Transfer, the first stop on their very first headlining tour. If you had a chance to see them at UT or back when they performed at Made in America, you definitely know that Misterwives are a must-see act, and certainly one of the most buzzed about new groups this year. And then of course, we have veterans A Silent Film, who formed back in 2008. The group played a Summer Block Party show back in 2011, so it will be great to see them back on the bigger and better Festival Pier stage this June!
Radio 104.5’s Summer Block Party Series features a free concert one Sunday each month from May through September! They’ve released a few of the bands for the upcoming events, but more are expected to be released in the future, so keep checking back for more info on the July, August, and September shows. Info on the ticket release is forthcoming, so stay tuned.
