Turbo Fruits has released all 11 tracks of their upcoming album. These songs are from the group’s new album No Control which is due for release on April 20 via Melvin Records/ Thirty Tigers.
No Control is the group’s fourth LP and itt was produced by Patrick Carney of the Black Keys. “No Control is my favorite Turbo Fruits album yet,” says Fruits singer/guitarist Jonas Stein. “We put some real heart and soul into it. Partying and getting laid is fun but this go around we had some real life heartache going on. I stayed sober for two months and it really peeled the Band-Aid off of some deep seeded emotions.”
The album features a wide variety of sounds that displays Turbo Fruits’ talents. Some songs, such as “Don’t Let Me Break Your Heart Again,” are upbeat with a defined backbeat. On the other hand, there are slowly, more heart-felt ballads such as “Big Brother.”
Turbo Fruits is currently made up of Jonas Stein (vocals, guitar), Kingsley Brock (guitar, back-up vocals), Dave McCowen (bass, back-up vocals), and Matt Hearn (drums). The group released their first studio album, Turbo Fruits in 2007. Over the years the band has shuffled through a number of member changes before settling on those who currently make up the band. Despite this, the band has steadily produced and released songs over the years. Most recently, the group preformed as the SXSW Showcase Party In My Pants. According to Spin, Turbo Fruits will also be on tour starting April 18.
