Franz Ferdinad and Sparks have released a new collaborate track, “Johnny Delusional.” The two bands plan to merge to form FFS and this song will be featured on their debut self titled album.
FFS will be available on June 8th via Domino. According to NME, FFS will be available as CD, download, 16-track double vinyl + limited edition double vinyl special edition, and deluxe CD featuring four bonus tracks. Additionally, NME reports that the supergroup will perform their first collaborative performance as FFS at Glasgow Arts School on June 16. Other expected performances include Lollapalooza, Benicassim, and Slovakia’s Pohoda.
The group first released the final song of the album “Piss Off.” Now they have shared the intro song “Jonny Delusional,” and truly given fans a taste of what FFS is all about. The song begins slowly, with a few cords that set the song up with a dark vibe. As the song goes on, the eerie feel continues the focus of the song is the voice and the melodic piano in the background. Suddenly, the beat picks up, but never lets go of the dark undertones that are introduced in the beginning. According to Consequence of Sound the track is “a peppy, theatrical number highlighted by the playful stomp of piano chords and rallying harmonies.”
