Michael Atha, better known by his stage name Yelawolf, is an American hip hop recording artist from Gadsden Alabama. He is currently signed to Shady Records, Interscope Records, and his own label, Slumerican Records. His independent debut, Creek Water, was released in 2005.
In 2011, shortly after signing with Eminem’s label, Shady Records, he released his album Radioactive. The album debuted at number 27 on the Billboard 200. He then released his breakthrough mix tape Trunk Muzik in 2013. His next project to be released under Shady Records is his upcoming release, Love Story, which is set to be released late April. The album was described by Yelawolf as a more passionate album than his debut album. The album was supported by the singles “Box Chevy V”, “Til It’s Gone”, “Whiskey In a Bottle” and “American You”.
