English trance group Above & Beyond have released a new music video for the track “Peace of Mind,” the latest single from their third album.
Above & Beyond released their latest album, We Are All We Need, in January 2015 after unveiling the tracklisting and release date in December 2014. They played Free Press Summer Festival in Houston in summer 2014 along with headliners like Vampire Weekend and Wu-Tang Clan. They recently finished a tour in support of We Are All We Need throughout the United States and Canada.
“Peace of Mind” is a new track featuring singer-songwriter Zoë Johnston. The beat is danceable throughout most of the song, but the lyrics express a sadness that listeners otherwise might not pick up on. The synths are still there, but Johnston’s heartfelt singing and the poignant lyrics give the song an eerie, heart-wrenching feel. The video was directed by Kenlon Clark and inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, with a reenactment of the effort to erase all memories of a former romance and the reliving of those memories, both good and bad.
