Florence + The Machine released a new song, “Ship To Wreck,” from the band’s upcoming album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful.

“Ship To Wreck” is the album’s second single, and it premiered on the BBC Radio 1 program Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World.

Over the years, Florence + The Machine have proved time and time again that their strength lies in an ability to craft catchy songs that resonate with audiences large and small. And, “Ship To Wreck” is no exception, as it has an up-tempo pop-rock guitar driven beat that immediately draws listeners in. But, “Ship To Wreck” is not just your average up-tempo track, as there is an underlying darkness that emerges as listeners find Welch touching on feelings of self-doubt and her confusion about her future direction in the lyrics of the chorus: “Did I drink too much? Am I losing touch? Did I build this ship to wreck?”

In a press statement about this new song from How Big How Blue How Beautiful, Welch explained that, when she was writing the lyrics, she was thinking about her own “destructive side, and how you can make something only to tear it down, enjoy/destroy, create/devastate etc. When you’re in that whirlwind, you often end up breaking the thing you love the most”.

Listen to it, below.

“Ship To Wreck” is the fourth new song to be released from the upcoming album, and be sure to look for the official video, which will be out next week, according to a press release. And, incase you missed them, be sure to check out Florence + The Machine’s new music video for “St. Jude,” which was released in late March, and don’t miss the series of YouTube videos that showcase the band’s live performances of “St. Jude”, “Third Eye”, “How Big How Blue How Beautiful”, and the lead single, “What Kind of Man”, from their March concert at the Tufnell Park Dome in northern London.

How Big How Blue How Beautiful is out on June 2nd, 2015, via Republic Records. And, those attending Coachella can catch Florence + The Machine live on the main stage, right before headlining artist Drake.
