The latest from Florence + The Machine has been announced to premier in early June of this year. It’s a new album, a bigger sound, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Florence + The Machine has announced that their newest album, titled How Big How Big How Beautiful, will be released on June 2, 2015. This will be their third studio album following Lungs, which was initially released in 2009, and Ceremonials in 2011. The album was produced by Markus Dravs, who has also produced artists like Arcade Fire, Coldplay, and Björk.
This time around, Florence + The Machine has given us a powerful, yet elegant production that further defines the band’s already unique sound. With Dravs, they’ve managed to produce an album that incorporates a strong brass section with electronic accents alongside Florence Welch’s unmistakable voice. This album also incorporates many more live instruments throughout, which is a warm return to some of the band’s earlier works and ultimately provides a fuller musical experience.
Tracks like “Ship To Wreck,” which opens the album, and “How Big How Blue How Beautiful” reveal both the energy of the band’s development up to this point as well as their massive aspirations looking forward as a band. The album has also been influenced in a meaningful way by songwriter Kid Harpoon, who also helped with the production of Ceremonials on tracks like “Shake It Out” and “Mother.” John Hill and Paul Epworth have also contributed to the album to produce what is likely to be Florence + The Machine’s most impressive release yet.
How Big How Blue How Beautiful‘s first single, “What Kind Of Man,” is available on iTunes. They’ve also released a video to accompany the single that can be viewed here. The video forr the title track “How Big How Blue How Beautiful” was released earlier this month. The entire album is already available for preorder.
