Mixed with the elements of a latex skirt, sun and much hotness, the L.A. based gal punk-rockers, Bleached, decided to give their fans at Burgerama an exclusive taste of “Sleep Walkin'”, a song off their second forthcoming full length record. Together, the sister duo, Jennifer (vocals/ryhtmn guitar) and Jessica Clavin (lead guitar) with guitarist Micayla Grace and drummer Bosh Rothman put on a memorable show that has everyone talking in anticipation of the project. Burgerama, a growing concert festival is put on by an independent record label and record store based out of Fullerton, California called Burger Records. Held in Santa Ana, California at The Observatory Orange County, the concert festival Burgerama lasted from March 28th to March 29th and is in its fourth year of bringing rising stars to a vast audience. There were major performances from many genres by Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Black Lips, Ariel Pink to Weezer, Fidlar and Ty Segall who headlined the annual burger bash.

These ladies sure know how to drop hot singles during high temperature seasons, right? Last summer they released, “Poison Ivy” in July and under their former name Mika Miko, “Dead In Your Head” off their album Ride Your Heart. The album is filled with lots of coastal-style love, syncopated melodies and vinyl worthy.
From a musical stand point, the unreleased single, “Sleep Walkin'” starts off with high energy, hi-hat drum cymbals and a start and stop crank up as the song gets thrown into a well-deserved body-jerking overdrive. As the lyrics flowed against the guitar riffs, lead vocalist Jennifer expressively says something along the lines of “I’m alive” and “mind” which could indicate some complex emotions of feeling consciously aware but not awake with your surroundings. The emotions portrayed goes perfect with the psychedelic vibes and killer repeated guitar licks. The band was having fun intensely in the video while the crowd pumped their fist and headnod in excitement. Towards the middle of the song, there was a pretty awesome guitar melody that was set on repeat played by Micayla as Jessica kept the chords steady and in-control. The song bridged classically into everyone’s sweet and overly emphasized dynamics and sound. The music towards the song-ending sounds similar to the beginning with the really cool band crank up and then it mellows out.
Their musicality has a snare compared to Fleetwood Mac and their witty-gal punk flare personalities could be compared to the Spice Girls with their own eclectic punk twist. Feminine but yet in control the band, Bleached, is on their way.
