Tuesday marked the official release date for The Staves’ sophomore album in the U.S. Hailing from Watford, Hertfordshire, England, the sister trio includes Emily, Jessica and Camilla Staveley-Taylor. Emracing the acoustic nature of folk-rock, the band previously released the single “Steady” in anticipation of their latest album, If I Was.
In celebration of the album’s release, the trio performed at London’s Wilton’s Music Hall playing the complete album in its entirety, Consequence of Sound reports. The Staves were accompanied by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon—who worked with the sisters extensively on the album. Vernon offered his signature hauntingly beautiful guitar strums for the performance of “Make It Holy”. In combination with the siblings’ adept harmonies, Vernon’s tranquil voice gives way for a lovely collaboration.
