Van Hunt has released a new video for “VEGA (stripes on),” the first single for their upcoming album The Fun Rises, The Fun Sets. The album is set for release on May 5 via Godless-Hotspot/ Thirty Tigers.
The new video was directed and edited by Vanessa Crocini. The song and video has a flare of funk as the introduction plays. The video focuses on a more simple time in society as Hunt is seen on roller blades. Then the scenes take a turn for the exotic as random images of naked mannequins and women walking down the street are flashed. Hunt sings “How good can a good girl really be?/ I’m the captain of this relationship / And Girl I wanna cruise with you.” By the end of the video Hunt is alone dancing to his own funky tune.
Interested fans can pre-order the album here. On the website, Hunt wrote a letter to fans discussing his excitement for the upcoming album. At the end of the letter Hunt writes:
“That exploration has given rise to an album that chronicles love, loss and nostalgia delivered through the sounds of original funk and old soul. It’s the sounds and experiences of the past reflected through a contemporary lens. Without giving away too much, I can say that there’s something special in the air with this album. So, in line with this newly-charged creativity, I invite you to join PledgeMusic and me on this exhilarating and dynamic experience.”
