Producer Jamie XX has announced a new album for a June 2015 release. The new album called In Colour keeps up with his indie pop roots.
The album announcement follows on the heels of a successful announcement of the release of “Alba” for Record Store Day and “Loud Places.” “Loud Places” premiered on Sirius XMU on Wednesday afternoon. Below is the embedded video for “Loud Places:”
In addition, a taster from In Colour – album opener “Gosh” – has also been made available to hear today. You can go ahead and listen to “Gosh” here. “Gosh” starts off with a great blend of beats and vocal sound effects and eventually focuses on a strong bass melody and siren effect. It creates a great pump up song that is really representative of the sound of his recent releases, and should create a strong open for In Colour.
In Colour is an important release because it comes after an extensive six year creative period for Jamie xx. During this time he has fluidly alternated from his role as founding member and producer of The xx to acting as a creator, producer, and club DJ as Jamie xx.
For more information on Jamie, check out his website at www.jamiexx.com. There you can see the recent four releases and the videos that have been produced all together on a site modeled and designed after the cover for In Colour. On that site you can also pre order In Colour and view Jamie xx merchandise.
