Death Grips Release New Video For “I Break Mirrors With My Face In The United States”

The recently rejoined Death Grips have just shared the video for “I Break Mirrors With My Face in the United States.” The experimental hip hop group’s song is from their upcoming album Jenny Death. In the Go Pro camera-esque video in the Pitchfork release, MC Ride’s microphone is turned into a selfie stick as the band runs through the song after the drumstick has been used for a subjective view for almost 3 minutes. The fast movements, blurred lights, and upbeat music all add to the high energy song and performance, despite the location and lack of live audience. Check it out below

Death Grips formed in 2010 and is made up of Stefan Burnett (Also known as “Ride”), Zach Hill, and producer Andy Morin. With 3 studio albums, 2 EPs, and a soundtrack and a mixtape, one would think that the well established group would have no problem with their announcements and social media presentation.

Many announcements, including the new video have been released on a speculated band run twitter @bbpoltergiest. Sources cite tweets with inside connections like photos from assorted trips and leaked information as proof, but the account has not been formally claimed and many of the tweets have been deleted. The account has also raised speculation on whether or not the group actually formally broke up, hinting that it was to act as a PR stunt to attract attention and rile fans up.
