Rapper Snoop Dogg has released a new video for “Peaches N Cream”, which is the first single from his upcoming LP, “Bush”.
The video for “Peaches N Cream” combines retro and futuristic elements, in what Rolling Stone describes as, “magical land built out of CGI graphics that would’ve looked mind-boggling at the turn of the century.”
While it may seem like an odd fit, Rolling Stone notes that the “old school graphics work surprisingly in Snoop’s favor”, when “mixed with ancient Egyptian symbols and a Seventies funk aesthetic.”
Thanks to some present day movie magic, in the form of a green screen, the fur coat wearing rapper is transported to several locations, including a room where he is seated in front of what appears to be a planet as he is surrounded by scantily clad women, and a hedge garden in the moonlight, where he is caressed by disembodied arms.
The disembodied arms, however, do not belong to the “Bush” producer Pharrell and assistant producer Charlie Wilson, both of whom make cameo appearances in the official music video for “Peaches N Cream”.
Snoop Dogg’s upcoming Pharrell-produced album is set to be released on May 12th, 2015, via Snoop Dogg’s own label Doggy Style Records, Pharrell’s i am OTHER, and Columbia Records.

And, on a related note, on March 20th, 2015, Snoop Dogg will make history at South By Southwest (SXSW), when he becomes the first rapper to deliver the festival’s annual keynote speech at the Austin Convention Center. The event is open to all Music and Platinum registrants and registered showcasing artists.
