Willie Nelson will recount his life in a forthcoming autobiography, from a childhood during the Great Depression to becoming a legendary musical icon, Rolling Stone reports. With a career spanning over six decades, the celebrated musician will have a lot to tell in his memoir titled, It’s a Long Story: My Life.
Four-time Gleason Music Book Award Winner David Ritz will assist Nelson in the process as he looks back on his eventful past. The memoir is said to dig deep into the renowned country singer’s life and career, discussing his legal issues with the IRS, his connections with multiple women and tales of his friends in the entertainment industry.
It’s a Long Story: My Life is due on May 5th via Little, Brown and Company—just days after his 82nd birthday.
And if you’re at SXSW this weekend, catch Nelson at the Heartbreaker Banquet SXSW party.
