WATCH: Dave Grohl Joins Rise Against For Surprise Performance Of A Song From Grohl’s Old Band Scream

Best known for his contribution to the group the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl is one of the most prolific drummers in rock history. Last week during the Australian leg of his tour the band Rise Against did a cover of a Scream song. Dave’s old band pre- Nirvana


There are few people that come to mind when you hear the word “drummer”. Dave Grohl’s face should immediately pop up in your mind along with Travis Barker. So when Chicago rock group Rise Against realized the opportunity they had to bring a legend on stage, they capitalized. Rise Against brought Dave Grohl on stage to a time before he was even a legal adult. Rise Against, now featuring Grohl on the drums performed the Scream song “Came Without Warning” from the Still Screaming album.
Dave Grohl, 46, has been a musician in the public eye ever since the age of seventeen. Still in high school at the time Grohl auditioned for the band Scream, and was lucky enough to get the part. After four year stint with the band, Grohl linked up with Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic to form iconic Punk-Rock group Nirvana. Post- Nirvana, Dave went on to form his own band the Foo Fighters, which is what he is best known for.

In the video posted by consequence of sound the band members of Rise Against planned to perform cover song. The cover was coincidentally enough a Scream song. As a treat to the fans, Dave Grohl reprised his roll as drummer for the song. The members of Rise Against allowed Grohl to take over and have the spotlight as he does work on the drums. The crowd loved every second of it.

The Foo Fighters have just wrapped up the Australian leg of the tour for their album Sonic Highways which came out last year. David Grohl is already legendary, and is approaching iconic status. His personal catalog is so thick that without him the blueprint behind a score of the last decades rock albums would not exist. The members of Rise Against realized that when they decided to cover a Scream song. Paying homage to Grohl, who’s career has spanned longer than I have been alive, is an awesome sight to see. The people of Adelaide witnessed something that may never happen again.

At this event it was also announced that the Foo Fighters would be headlining the Glastonbury Festival in London, England this year along with Kanye West. While there is no word yet of another Foo Fighters album in the works, Dave Grohl and the rest of his band members will continue to be rocking shows for the foreseeable future.
