The Toronto indie-pop band Alvvays will be headed our way this summer with a scheduled show at Union Transfer. The band is out supporting last year’s debut album. They’ll be touring with The Decemberists for a bit, including a stop here in Philly in April at the Academy of Music. If you don’t have tickets for that show, fear not, because you can catch them again when they roll through town on June 12th. They’ll headline a show of their own at UT, and you can grab your tickets now.
Their self-titled record, which dropped in July of last year, went to #1 on the CMJ charts and the band has been gaining steady momentum since the release. The album was ranked among the top 50 of last year. And their track “Archie Marry Me” was ranked among the top 50 as well. With such a successful 2014, Alvvays are poised to have an even bigger 2015, with steady tour dates lined up for the rest of the year. You do not want to miss the quintet when they head to Philly this summer!
