Autopsy reports have shown that the frontman of Static-X combined alcohol and prescription medication before his death on November 1, 2014.
The lethal combination was revealed as a mixture of Xanax, oxycodone, and alcohol. Reports indicate that there were no signs of struggle or fowl play concerning his death. While his family has come forward admitting prior alcohol abuse, the overdose is not being considered suicidal in nature. Static’s widow, Tera Wray, explained that she and her husband went to sleep at 7:00pm, shortly after Static had downed 30 mg of oxy with alcohol. She awoke around 3:30am to find him dead.
Reports have revealed the following about Static’s drug usage around the time of his death:
[He] took oxycodone, Xanax (alprazolam) and alcohol to relieve panic attacks. He took Xanax on a daily basis and was compliant with the prescribed dosage. His wife stated he would occasionally have his own prescription for oxycodone, but he would usually take hers. The decedent also had a history of gynecomastia… His wife stated both she and the decedent had a history of cocaine and ecstasy abuse, but they stopped using illicit drugs in 2009.
A recent memorial concert was held for Static at Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood. Static-X was preparing to tour with Drowning Pool and Powerman 5000 before he Static’s passing. Wayne Richard Wells, The True King of Evil Disco, was 48.
