Alt-country band Houndmouth have a new album and a new tour in the works. They’re playing a show at Union Transfer on April 4th as part of a lengthy tour in support of their new release. But Philadelphians will have a chance to catch the band before their Union Transfer gig! Head to World Cafe Live this Friday, March 13th, for a Free at Noon performance from the rising talent.
Houndmouth released their debut album, From the Hills Below the City, back in 2013. On March 17th they’ll release the follow up, Little Neon Limelight, via Rough Trade Records. The album was recorded in Nashville with help from producer Dave Cobb. You can take a listen to Little Neon Limelight‘s lead single “Sedona” below.
Houdmouth got their start back in 2011, playing local gigs in Louisville and Indiana. In March of 2012 they headed down to Austin, Texas to perform at SXSW. The head of Rough Trade Records just happened to be in the audience, and offered the band a contract shortly thereafter. 2013 proved to be an even bigger year for the young band, with late night performances on Letterman and Conan. They also performed at several festivals including Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, being named a “must-see” band at Lolla. And you’ll be able to see them on a tiny stage, for free, this Friday at World Cafe Live. RSVP now to make sure you’re on the list!
