The Hollywood Vampires have a new vampire to add to the mix. Joining the supergroup that is Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry is none other than Sir Paul McCartney himself.
Back in February, it was revealed that The Hollywood Vampires were once again out in the business after the revelation of the Rock In Rio Festival. It was revealed as recently as a couple of days ago that the Vampires had added a new member to the fold. Known as a core member of both The Beatles and Wings, Paul McCartney joined the group for a couple of single collaborations in the studio, most notably being a new rendition of the 1969 Badfinger song “Come And Get It.” With the recordings and the announcement of a planned tour, The Hollywood Vampires are on the cusp of something special, although McCartney has no plans to tour with the group.
It’s currently unknown exactly how this group of men got together. Each of the individual members have pursued different projects from different circles. Most recently, the plot lines for Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow were revealed as the plot of the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Joe Perry and Aerosmith recently performed at the Whisky and posted tour dates for the “Let Rock Rule” tour. Although he has no official plans to tour with the Vampires, McCartney has been busy with several other collaborations, most recently performing with Rihanna and Kanye West for their song “FourFiveSeconds” at the Grammys.
This is not the first time the Hollywood Vampires have been around in the spotlight. The Hollywood Vampires were originally a group of drinking friends that took the party world by storm. The original Vampires consisted of such notable names as John Lennon, Keith Moon, and Harry Nilsson. The modern-day musical group known as the Hollywood Vampires includes Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry of Aerosmith. The first performance of the latter group will be at this year’s Rock In Rio Festival in Brazil.
