Hall And Oates aren’t going to let their name be used lightly without any serious legal consequences. The popular duo are undertaking legal action against a Brooklyn-based granola company for naming their brand of granola “Haulin’ Oats.”
Daryl Hall and John Oates took their case to a Brooklyn court to stop granola company Early Bird for attempting to produce a brand of granola using the name “Haulin’ Oates.” The duo claims that the name is a “phonetic play on Daryl Hall and John Oates’s well-known brand name.” Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time that the duo’s name has been used in some sort of sly product name before. Apparently, there have been several attempts prior to Early Bird’s to use some sort of phonetic reference to the duo.
Outside of the lawsuit, Hall And Oates have been performing at a slew of festivals over the last year. Back in June, the duo performed at the Life Is Good Festival, and they followed that up with a performance at the Outside Lands Festival in August. Hall And Oates are in the thick of celebrating their recent induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, along with Nirvanna, Kiss, and Cat Stevens.
