Musician, poet, and writer Saul Williams announced that he will be hitting the road this spring on the MartyrLoserKingdom Tour. The tour kicks off in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 15th, 2015, and will traverse the country before wrapping up on May 10th in Philadelphia, Pa.
Creatively, Williams has been breaking ground since his Rick Rubin-produced debut, “Amethyst Rock Star”, was released in 2001. In 2004, he released a self-titled album, and followed that up with “The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust” that was released in 2007 via Fader Label. And, he has gone on to record with Nine Inch Nails, along with appearing in numerous television shows and films.
In addition to his music and work in television and film, Newburgh, New York-native Williams is internationally known for his poetry and writings. According to a press release, he has performed in over 30 countries and read in over 300 universities. And, he has also been invited to perform in notable places, including the White House, the Sydney Opera House, Lincoln Center, The Louvre, The Getty Center, and Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Now, as he heads out on the road with special guests Sons of an Illustrious Father and Haleek Maul, Williams is gearing up to release his fifth studio album, “MartyrLoserKing”, this summer via FADER Label.
