Courtney Barnett is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist from Melbourne. She’s known for her witty, rambling lyrics and deadpan singing style. Barnett started gaining attention in 2013 when she released her debut full length and played the CMJ Music Marathon. Barnett was noted as a “standout performer” by both The Rolling Stone and The New York Times.
Barnett played as a guitarist in other people’s bands for years before breaking out and becoming a solo artist. Her success sparked by gathering a bunch of like-minded friends and recording a debut EP of rambling garage pop together.
Barnett recently released details on her upcoming full-length album along with a new single and an accompanying music video. Her debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit, is set to be released worldwide on March 23.
