Chill Moody @ The TLA 3/7

Philly’s favorite rapper, Chill Moody, is celebrating an important birthday and he’s inviting a few of his closest friends to join him. Come celebrate Chill Moody’s 30th Birthday at The TLA this March for the rapper’s #30isthenew30 concert. Chill will be performing on March 7th and tickets are on sale now. He has sold out the TLA before, so do not wait until the last minute to grab your tickets.

In addition to the general admission tickets, Chill Moody is also offering up a VIP experience. For just $20 more, fans will receive early entry and a special meet & greet with the artist. The VIP section is the entire balcony area of the TLA and it will offer easier bar access and it will be a catered affair.

Chill Moody performances are always a great time, but we were curious to know what he had in store for us this time around. We had a chance to talk to Chill earlier and hear from him exactly what we can expect at #30isthenew30.

According to Chill, the upcoming show will be a nice mix of new stuff and old stuff. He’ll be playing the classic tunes that his die-hard fans adore. And as always, he’ll have a few surprise guests up his sleeve. His full band, Band For Hire, will be with him along with his DJ, DJ Ricochet. Big the big thing he urged is that this isn’t just a show, this is a party! To celebrate the big 3-0 he’ll be doing it in style with everyone who has always supported him, his family, his friends, and his fans. The show will feature performances from Beano, DJ Ricochet, Jacqueline Constance, Kid Felix, and Ol’ Souls.

Back in December 2012, Chill Moody headlined his first big show at The TLA. As we’ve come to expect from the rapper, he absolutely killed it that night performing for the sold-out crowd. He and the rest of the #nicethings crew were performing in support of Chill Moody’s album release, which dropped in January of 2013. Then in February of last year, Chill Moody, Beano and Hank McCoy sold out the Hard Rock Cafe in honor of the release of their amazing collaboration Who Do You Love…More? With performances at SXSW and the Roots Picnic, Chill Moody and friends have had a very busy year.

Fans of the rapper love him for his accessibility, having become known for his presence on social media. The rising star has become the pride of a city that loves a local hero. And if you’ve been following along, you know that there is perhaps no one more proud of his city than Chill Moody. A constant advocate for the Philadelphia music scene, Chill was recently dubbed Philadelphia Music Ambassador by the mayor’s office. He also recently introduced his newest effort to support the Philly music scene. The initiative is being dubbed Phirst Tuesdays. It’s an open mic/jam session that goes down on the first Tuesday of every month at Bourbon & Branch. As always, Chill Moody is a big advocate for elevating his performances, and the #30isthenew30 gig is no different. He promises that they “have some big things planned with this performance” so you definitely want to make sure you’re in attendance on Saturday, May 7th.
