Since the release of her debut Daughter In The Choir EP in March 2012, Tennesee-bred singer-songwriter Meg Myers has gradually begun to garner some well-deserved attention. In 2013, mxdwn writer Vanessa Hernandez sat down with the rising star to discuss her future projects and major influences. Her second EP Make a Shadow, released on February 7, 2014, was met with even more praise amongst the alternative music sphere.
Now, in preparation for the release of her first-ever full-length album, Myers has graced us with its first single “Sorry”—which also happens to be the title of the debut record.
“Sorry” is a powerful track, showcasing the strength of Myers’ vocal ability as she sings with intensity. “Sorry that I lost our love, it really hurts sometimes,” she cries while her band plays vigorously in the background. As the track fluctuates from soft and downhearted to loud and forceful, the emotionally-charged nature of the track is undeniably apparent.
