WATCH: Courtney Barnett Releases New Video For “Depreston”

Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett has released a new music video for the song “Depreston”, from her upcoming album, “Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit”.

The video for “Depreston” is the second video that Barnett has released. In late January, she released a video for the album’s first single, “Pedestrian at Best”, in which she played a carnival clown that is feeling down.

Unlike “Pedestrian at Best”, Barnett does not appear onscreen in “Depreston”. Instead, the video features three different camera angles of the same scene. The camera angles appear to be taken from a car that is driving the viewers around a series of roadways and through suburban neighborhoods in Melbourne, Australia, to highlight the landscape. Lyrically, “Depreston” deals with adult responsibility, life, and even death. However, this time musically, Barnett shied away from the rock sounds she had brought to life in “Pedestrian at Best”, and decided to use a more mid-tempo laid back approach on this new song.

“Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit” is set to be released worldwide on March 24, 2015, via Mom + Pop, but Australian and New Zealand fans will be able to purchase the album on March 20th, 2015.
