In celebration of the founding of her new label Honor Press, Meredith Graves of Perfect Pussy will curate the show of the season at Baby’s All Right: the aptly titled “Perfect Weekend”. Originally from Syracuse NY, Graves and her band have been at the forefront of the punk and hardcore scene since they released Say Yes to Love in 2012. She has decided that, after only one release on Captured Tracks, she is ready to run her own label and release the music that matters to her, but if you count yourself as a fan there is a good chance it will matter to you too.
Honor Press’ first signing, So Stressed ,are a band from Sacramento, and their first album is due out in May of this year. Graves has said that her label will allow no “phonies, snobs, or shitheads,” so it is fair to expect an earnest, engaged performance from these upstarts. Perfect Pussy will headline both nights, with Sick Feeling, Meat Wave and Mannequin Pussy opening on friday, and So Stressed, Wreck & Reference, and Laced opening on Saturday.
Graves says she is dedicated to putting out records from artists doing interesting, creative things, and that she only wants to put out music for people doing it for the right reason. It is safe to say that, on April 3rd and 4th, Baby’s All Right will be packed with people who are there for the right reason too, and, if you can make it, it will be a Perfect Weekend not to miss.
