Approaching the release of their new album, Calexico has given us another tune to sample before their most recent project hits stores. Take a listen to their latest.
Tucson-based indie rock band Calexico has just dropped their latest song off of their upcoming album, Edge of the Sun. “Falling From The Sky” is a bright, hopeful track that floats along with warm acoustic guitar and brass elements. The band’s lead singer, Joey Burns, is accompanied by Band of Horses’ Ben Bridwell and his classic high-range voice to create fuller vocals that almost shimmer as the song builds. While this song is much less complex than the previously-released electro/Tex-Mex track, “Cumbia de Donde,” which is will also be on the new album, it’s powerful in its own way and has us even more excited for the entire project.
Edge of the Sun will be Calexico’s 9th studio album following Algiers, which was released in 2012. They also released a live symphonic album titled Spiritoso in 2013.
Calexico has announced a new North American tour this year as well.
Edge of the Sun is scheduled to be released on April 14 this year. Preorder the album here.
