Hearing that Pixies were touring again was like having your feet on the air and your head in the ground!
Their first album to come out in almost 23 years, Indie City, was supported with a tour, for which they broke in their new touring bassist Paz Lenchantin, who replaced Kim Deal, a founding member of the band.
The band now looks something like this: Black Francis still acting frontman, guitarist Joey Santiago and drummer David Lovering, and Paz on bass for shows.
They have just recently announce a new series of tour dates throughout North America.
On the band’s official page, they disclaim that the new tour will feature tracks from all across their recording oeuvre, as well as “some new Pixies songs, written and arranged just in the past few months”.
Having not only gone on tour last year, Pixies also released and album and a three disc anniversary reissue of their 1989 album Doolittle, which was their breakthrough.
