WATCH: Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks Cover Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”

Fader has just released a video of Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks covering the Taylor Swift hit “Blank Space” on a Portland Kid’s variety show called “You Who.”

Let’s start with the fact that this is at a kid’s variety show. They’re not even in middle school and they can say that they danced beneath bubbles and with balloons as their parents nodded along to a faithful cover of TSwift with a stronger edge and a bit of distortion.

While this cover keeps to their usual and well seasoned sound, the atypical crowd adds a bit more to their performance.

Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks are self described as “punk like a skunk” and they own their unique sound. Since 2001, with the group’s first album Stephen Malkmus, they’ve released five albums. The most recent being Wig Out at Jagbags.
