Toro Y Moi has just released a new video for “Empty Nesters” a single off of his upcoming album. “What For” is set for an April 7th release by Carpark Records.
Toro Y Moi, also known as Chaz Bundick, is know for the smooth and relaxed music styles that brought him into the limelight with Causers of This, Underneath the Pine, Freaking Out EP, and Anything in Return.
The video, with the driving bass line, and funky synth keeps it casual as Bundick adventures around. Whether masked or in his knickers, Bundick’ personal direction, production, and shooting of the video means it’s 100 percent of his vision with how his music should be visually enjoyed.
This sort of vision ties over to his upcoming album.
“I’ve done electronic R&B and more traditional recorded type R&B stuff. I just wanted to see what else was out there,” Bundick says of the record. “It’s all coming from the same mindset and point of creativity. It’s just me trying to take what I already have, and then taking it further.”
On top of this new release, Toro Y Moi will be kicking off a North American and European tour on March 24th, 2015. The tour includes stops at Coachella and headlining dates at New York’s Terminal 5 and Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club. Tickets are available online.
