Tickets are now on sale to see two emerging female performers who both had a taste of mainstream success in 2014, and seem poised to have even bigger years in 2015. This show will be a chance to see two up and coming names in a relatively small venue, and, if they continue on their current trajectories, it is likely that in the future the only place you will be able to see either of these young ladies is an arena or big name festival. As an interesting parallel, both artists happened to attend the esteemed Berklee College of Music around the same time.
Kiesza, who was born and raised in Calgary, Canada, became an overnight success when her song “Hideaway” began to get airplay on radios all across North America and Europe, and brought us back to the deep-house sounds of the 80’s and 90’s. In reality, Kiesza has been making music for awhile: she had been living in both New York and London playing and writing folk music before she decided to try something different, and recorded the hit that became “Hideaway.” She has subsequently recorded an album, and has a series of dates lined up all over the world in 2015.
Betty Who is an Australian national, and she released her second EP in 2014 on RCA records. She started garnering national and international after releasing a free album in 2013 that quickly went viral and attracted the attention of major labels. She cites Robyn and Katy Perry as influences and has her eyes clearly set on the upper echelons of pop music. She too will be playing a variety of national and international dates in 2015.
