A lethal incident happened to Nicki Minaj‘s touring team during Philadelphia rehearsing for Nicki’s upcoming tour. The singer’s stage hand De’Von Pickett was stabbed to death Tuesday night at the Che Bar & Grill, as reported by TMZ.
According to The Guardian, Pickett, 29, suffered multiple stab wounds to the torso and died at Albert Einstein Medical Center at 2.45 a.m. local time. Eric Reed, a 27-year old tour manager, was hospitalized after being stabbed in the arm and torso. By Thursday morning, NBC Philadelphia had reported that Reed was in fair condition.
Nicki wrote on Instagram, “These guys flew into Philly for my tour rehearsals 2 days ago and were both stabbed last night. #RIPDAYDAY condolences to your family. Unbelievable. Eric is recovering. Another senseless act of violence that took the life of a great guy. So sad.”
Police said the fight began when a man started arguing with the victims inside the bar at about 2 a.m. and pulled a knife once they got outside; at the moment witnesses to the murder are being interviewed, the surveillance video of the scene is being analyzed.
According to Consequence Of Sound, police are currently looking for a man in a black jacket who fled the scene in a Buick LeSabre.
