Amanda Palmer has announced dates for her spring 2015 tour. She was inspired to go on tour following a short period where she was focusing more on writing.
Palmer spent a large portion of last year writing a book, selling it, and promoting it on tour. Her book, The Art Of Asking was released on November 11 via Grand Central Publishing. While Palmer did do some music performances last year, it seems that her book became quite popular and she was more recognized for her TED talk than her music.
“It is a depressing state of affairs to be confronted with people everywhere telling me: “i’ve never heard your music, but…” writes Palmer who is reflecting on the awkward situation that occurs all too often. As a result, now that her book is fully promoted, Palmer feels that it is a wonderful time to get back into the music side of her career and doing a tour is the best way to launch back into it.
Palmer writes:
“so i figure
there is only one way to really fix this problem, and that is TO GO ON TOUR.
i’m still reeling from the basically-no-days-off-in-an-entire-year schedule of 2014, my life at home is a catastrophe….
and things are a bit of a mess pretty much any way you slice it, but i’m going on tour.”
She will be touring in 8 cities that are new from the book circuit that she was on during 2014. The dates for Palmer’s tour, An Evening With Amanda Fucking Palmer, are listed below. Any additional updates about Plamer can be found on her official website.
