To promote the release of their album, Catacombs of the Black Vatican, metal legends the Black Label Society and band leader Zakk Wylde have announced 39 upcoming international dates for their Unblackened Tour.
Just to bring you up to speed, Unblackened was originally a one-off concert that BLS played at Club Nokia in LA, featuring acoustic renditions of some of their heaviest songs. Based on the popularity of the CD/DVD released two years ago, the band have decided to take it on the road. Virtuoso guitarist, singer and band impresario Zakk Wylde clarified even further why the group is taking Unblackened to the public now:
“I always wanted to take Unblackened on the road, we just didn’t have the time until now. You can take a song that you’ve played thousands of times and rearrange it, and all of a sudden it’s something totally fresh. The attitude of the songs doesn’t change when we play them acoustically–the tunes are gritty regardless.”
This retrospective tour comes at a time when the band is already busy touring in support of their most recent release, Catacombs of the Black Vatican. Coming off Winter and Spring tour dates, as well as upcoming appearances at Ozzfiesta and Ressurection Fest, the band has been hitting the road with an insane work ethic to match their metal savagery.
The tour dates listed below show just how much work the band has planned for themselves in the coming months, namely 39 tour dates in 20 countries in a six month span. Especially of note, during the month of April, Wylde and co. will be touring through the U.S. hitting large and mid-sized cities from coast to coast. Tickets are available through Bandsintown.
