Mute Fest Mexico 2015 Lineup Announced

Mute have announced the lineup and dates for their Mute Fest Mexico that is set to take place on March 21st.

The Mute Festival is primarily run by Mute founder Daniel Miller, and features several musical acts as well as a few DJ sets. The festival is part of a year-long cross-cultural exchange tradition called Dual Year UK-MX 2015 in which British acts and culture will permeate throughout Mexico for a few days, which is then followed by a series of days in which Mexican musicians and other cultural icons pitch their tents in the United Kingdom. The festival has continued to run successfully thanks to the support of the National Council for Culture and the Arts. While tickets to the festival are free, the tickets themselves must be reserved in advance.

One surprise appearance at the festival will be Depeche Mode’s Vince Clarke, who will be performing a very rare DJ set along with Yazoo and Erasure. The biggest DJ performance announcement has come in the form of Orchestral Manouveres In The Dark, a very funky, experimental group that originated in the late seventies and has seen a resurgence in popularity over the last decade. OMD recently released a new record entitled English Electric, which has fueled the recent interest in the group.

Doug Farrell: Am I a hip old lady that can hip-hop, be-bop, dance 'til you drop, and yo-yo make a wicked hot cup of co-co? No, but I am a struggling twenty-eight year old writer who loves music and writing about music.
