Giorgio Moroder Says He Is Collaborating With Skrillex On The Tron Video Game Soundtrack

There’s a Tron video game soundtrack in the works, but that probably doesn’t generate as much buzz as the two names that are principally associated with the project. Italian music producer Giorgio Moroder is teaming up with legendary electronic DJ Skrillex to compose the soundtrack for the upcoming Tron video game.

Giorgio Moroder is an Italian composer that has both composed and produced worked on electronic, disco-style music since the late 1970s, and his latest entry into music will now be featured in an upcoming video game for Tron. Moroder himself has revealed that the tracks, of which there are five currently in the works, will be worked on by both himself and Skrillex. The pairing of the Italian producer’s production savvy and Skrillex’s legendary electronic mixes will surely be a huge boost to a video game for a film franchise that has been around for nearly thirty years.

In addition to the video game for Tron, Moroder is also working a new record which is set to come out some time this year. Moroder has recently released two new videos following his collaboration with Daft Punk. The video for “Right Here Right Now” released just couple of weeks ago and features Kylie Minogue. He has also released a new video for his solo track “74 Is The New 24,” which, combined with the video for “Right Here Right Now” is the first pieces of solo work that Moroder has developed in nearly thirty years. Combine those singles with the collaboration with Skrillex for the Tron video game, and one begins to wonder when the producer will ever run out of fuel for creating.

Giorgio Moroder has been in the music industry since the 1940s, and has been producing music since the disco era. He has produced classic favorites from Donna Summer in the Seventies to modern favorites like Daft Punk in recent years. His upcoming record will feature collaborations from Brittney Spears, Sia, and Charli XCX.
