Jack White Covers Harry Connick Jr. and Releases Special Scratch-Off Posters

Recent Grammy-winner for Best Rock Performance Jack White does not seem to stop surprising us with his energy. As much as two announcements from the artist this time!

 

At first, Jack has covered Harry Connick, Jr. “Blue Light, Red Light” in a totally new way for him. An unusual voice sounding, as well as the cabaret manner of performing, will certainly attract your attention.

As reported by craveonline.com, the cover will be available on the 7-inch vinyl release of “That Black Bat Licorice,” the newest single from Jack’s tremendous new album Lazaretto. Jack recently performed the track as the musical finale of the Grammy week Los Angeles residency of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The “That Black Bat Licorice” 7-inch per-orders are available now via Third Man Records. Both songs from the single will be available digitally worldwide on February 17.

As for the other news, Jack White has announced a bunch of special prizes from Third Man Records. Being a part of the promotional campaign of his Las Vegas Brooklyn Bowl concert, White presented a chance for people to win limited-edition records and gift-cards through a three-panel scratch-off feature.

Individually hand-stamped, a limited run of 270 silkscreened posters have been produced. A unique combination of symbols are hidden beneath an opaque layer of scratch-off ink. To scratch it, the poster comes with a specially designed Jack White/Las Vegas 2015 coin, according to craveonline.com.

In reference to the song “Three Women,” if you reveal a redhead, blonde and brunette you win three limited edition records, as in the picture below.

If you discover the images of Nietzsche, Freud and Horace – named in the lyrics of Bat Black Licorice – you’ll win live comedy LPs from Third Man, while those who reveal three matching men from the Third Man Records logo win a $300 gift card.
