Rush is embarking on their R40 Live Tour to celebrate 40 years of making music together. The tour will also be the last live tour the band embarks on. R40 Live was created to highlight four decades of the bands greatest hits and outstanding performances.
After 4o years of being together and creating 20 platinum studio albums, Rush is ready to end their career and celebrate with the most loyal fans in the world. This will be their 21st tour marking their last tour of this magnitude. Over the course of their amazing career, Rush has lived a lifetime together, providing an influential soundtrack to many of their fans’ lives. Dave Grohl stated at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that, “Rush built their following the right way. No hype, no bullshit, they did it from the ground up. Their legacy is incredible and their influence undeniable.” This speaks to fans who were there from the beginning, or to those who’ve discovered them somewhere along the way.
Since the release of the band’s self-titled debut in 1974, Rush has become known for its musicianship, complex compositions, and electric motifs drawing heavily on science fiction, fantasy, history, and philosophy. Rush’s music style has changed over the years from blues inspired rock to progressive rock. Their latest album, Clockwork Angels, was released in 2012 and won Album Of The Year Award from Progressive Music Awards.
