Fans of the British electronic band are abuzz with the possibility of some new music since their 2012 record In Our Heads. Domino, the group’s record label posted a cryptic video eluding for many about the band’s continued work.
When the short clip stating “Why Make Sense” with Hot Chip like vocals was released online, many started asking questions. The looping five-second animation with sound shows lights being lit, then the phrase “Why Make Sense” underlined. The band currently has several tour dates lined up, including the Sasquatch! Music Festival and The Governors Ball Music Festival. Each in May and June respectively.

As you can see, Hot Chip’s Alex Taylor will be DJing in NYC as part of the MoMA Armory Party Benefit with artists like Ezra Koenig, Kelela, and more. The Armory Benefit is New York’s foremost fair devoted to the most important art of the 20th and 21st centuries, with 205 galleries with art from 30 countries.
That isn’t the only individual work that the members of Hot Chip have been doing. Rob Smoughton released a new album under his individual project of Grovesnor called Soft Return. Al Doyle has been working on New Build with Felix Martin, with a recent album cal Pour it On. And Alexis Taylor of course has his solo album Await Barbarians.
