Glass Animals w/Gabriel Garzón-Montano @ Fonda Theatre 4/14

English quartet Glass Animals will perform at the Fonda Theatre in April in between the two Coachella weekends they are scheduled to play at. This will be one of the few times for U.S. fans to see Glass Animals this tour as the majority of the shows will be in Europe. The band is touring off the heels of its 2014 debut album Zaba, described as a psychedelic indie-pop record. The album peaked at 12 on ARIA charts.

The band originally began as a bedroom project by vocalist and songwriter Dave Bayley. He enlisted the help of his three childhood friends Edmund Irwin-Singer, Joe Seaward and Drew MacFarlane, who have all known each other since the age of 13, to be a part of the band. They have been mixing indie rock with electro-pop and trip-hop influences to create new sonic landscapes.

The band’s 2012 EP Leaflings garnered attention from British producer Paul Epworth, who has worked with Adele, Bloc Party, Florence & the Machine and others. Epworth found the band worthy enough to make them the first to sign onto his new label Wolf Tone. The latest single from Zaba is “Hazey,” released as its own EP featuring alternate remixes of the song. Supporting Glass Animals at the Fonda Theatre will be Gabriel Garzón-Montano.
