Steve Earle and his band The Dukes will hit the road for a series of intimate acoustic shows this spring. The shows will largely be held in a variety of indie record stores and various musical theaters across the country, the former of which has always held a special place in the heart of Steve Earle.
Steve Earle and The Dukes will run a tour of independent record stores, rustic music theaters, and a few live television appearances in support of their new record, Terraplane, which will be available on February 17th. One of the noted appearances on the tour will include an appearance on The Late Show With David Letterman, which Earle first performed on back in 1988 after the release of his legendary Copperhead Road record.
Terraplane, Earle’s 16th record, is a massive love letter to the blues giants that inspired his entire career. Although his music contains elements of various American music forms, such as rock and roll, rockabilly, and country, it’s the blues that has always run constant in his veins and music. The record itself will feature a variety of tributes to blues legends such as Johnny Winter, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Freddy King, and it will be on this particular tour that Earle will wear his blues roots on his sleeve and allow his audience to feel the love he has for deep-rooted blues music. The tour will kick off in Chicago, Illinois, without a doubt one of the pivotal cities in the history of the blues.
