Marv Watson

The video begins with Dessa exploring the beautiful landscapes of Mexico. She is seen mostly exploring beaches and rocky cliffs that overlook vast amounts of ocean. Roughly half way through the video, there is a unique turn when Dessa decides to take to the water. She plunges in feet first, letting herself sink to the bottom of the ocean. She swims amongst beautifully crafted statues that sit among the ocean floor

“Sound The Bell” was first premiered by PRI’s The World. According to a press release, the video was filmed by Daniel Cummings. As mentioned before the video was shot in Mexico, with scenes featuring the underwater museum created by Jason DeCaires Taylor. Interestingly enough, Dessa trained a good deal for this video as she is not a natural swimmer.

The video seems to fit perfectly with the mellow piano filled sounds of “Sound The Bell”. Dessa’s course of actions progresses with that of the song. She jumps into the water at the exact moment that the song picks up and the drums intensify the beat.
