Jeff Bridges has released a new album titled Sleeping Tapes. Sleeping Tapes is an interesting project that Bridges has been working on to capture the unique ‘sounds of sleep’ which went into creating this soothing album.
“The world is filled with too many restless people in need of rest – that’s why I filled my sleeping tapes with intriguing sounds, noises and other things to help you get a good night’s rest,” Is the first statement fans can see on the website about the purpose of the album. From Sleeping Tapes introduction to the final track, Jeff Bridges purpose for this album becomes quite clear.
Throughout the track there are sounds of nature and natural occurrences that are incredibly pleasing to the ear. On top of this, Bridges includes rhythmic melodies, soft words, and a few other techniques to achieve this incredibly hypnotizing album.
The album was promoted by a strange commercial which aired during the Super Bowl. According to news.com.au, the commercial features Bridges watching over a sleeping couple. The only words shown by throughout the commercial are the website link, DreamingWithJeff.com and the short phrase, “A website built with SquareSpace”. On the website Bridges partnership with SquareSpace is more apparent as he shows fans how to set up their own website in a brief commercial.
According to the Rolling Stone, fans can listen to the album for free or pay-what-you-want to download a copy of the album. On the album’s official website it is stated that all sales will go to No Kid Hungry. Additionally, there are limited cassette tapes and gold-colored vinyl available for purchase.
