Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett will release a new highly anticipated album, called “Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit”, on March 24, 2015, via Mom + Pop.
“Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit” is the follow-up to Barnett’s well-received debut, “The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas”, which she released after departing the twang-psych group Immigrant Union. When Barnett took leave of the group to go solo, she launched her own record label, called Milk! Records. And, on that label she released two EPs that she later combined to create the aforementioned “The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas,” which came out in 2013, according to Paste Magazine.
“My songs follow me as a normal human with normal emotions. So there are great highs and great lows. They span everything in my life,” she said in a press release, when asked of her music.
Emotion is also key in a new video that Barnett released for her song, “Pedestrian at Best,” in which she plays a carnival clown that is feeling down, after a day where nothing goes her way.
