Death Cab For Cutie Announce New Show At The Hollywood Bowl

Death Cab For Cutie have announced an upcoming show at The Hollywood Bowl, with opener tUnE-yArDs, and have released a new song, “Black Sun.”

Death Cab For Cutie has announced the kick-off to their North American tour at the Hollywood Bowl on July 12th, with tUnE-yArDs as support.

Death Cab’s upcoming performances will feature new touring members Dave Depper (Menomena, Fruit Bats) and Zac Rae (My Brightest Diamond, Fiona Apple), along with original members Ben Gibbard, Nick Harmer, and Jason McGerr.

The band’s upcoming tour is in promotion of their latest album Kintsugi, their eighth studio album, which drops March 31st.

Death Cab has released their first single off the album, called “Black Sun.” Although it sounds dark, the song features Ben Gibbard singing, “There is hope within despair.”

“Black Sun” is the first Death Cab release without founding member Chris Walla, who announced his departure last August, citing his reasoning as a desire “for the unknown.”

Death Cab For Cutie will be performing at the Hollywood Bowl on July 12th with tUnE-yArDs, and will be dropping their new album on March 31st. Tickets to the show at the Hollywood Bowl are available here, and you can stream “Black Sun” below.
