Interpol released a new music video for a song, called “Everything is Wrong”, from their 2014 album, El Pintor.
The video individually follows the members of Interpol as they walk around the streets of New York City, prior to giving a concert. Described as a “solid video” by SPIN, the band mates take on roles that range from a charming flirt portrayed by drummer Sam Fogarino to guitarist Daniel Kessler’s good natured – if not slightly cliché – portrayal of a young man helping an elderly woman to cross a busy street. Meanwhile, Paul Banks – who co-directed this video with Carlos Puga – plays a character that comes off as a self-absorbed jerk. Puga and Banks had previously worked together on the video for “Twice As Hard.” And, according to NME, the video also features a cameo appearance from Banks’ girlfriend supermodel Helena Christensen. Additionally, there’s another cameo by actor Christopher Abbott, best known for his portrayal of Alison Williams’ boyfriend Charlie on the series Girls, according to Radio.com.
In addition to appearing on El Pintor, “Everything is Wrong” will be re-released on Record Store Day (April 18, 2015) as a 7-inch single, and the track will be paired with another song, called “What Is What,” according to Pitchfork.
